 We’re a Featured Blog on “Where the Locals Eat”!

Pie’s Plate is written by 2 people, Pie and Rhonette.  We live in Jacksonville, FL and, well…we eat out a lot!  When we would go out to eat, we’d critique the restaurant on different qualities such as customer service, quality of food, restrooms, cleanliness, etc.  Since we talk so much about the restaurant amongst ourselves, we thought, “Hey, why don’t we write about the places we go and share our reviews? People like to know about a good restaurant, right?”  So here we are. 

Pie travels a lot in the South East for his job that pays the bills, so we include restaurants within his South East territory.  Our reviews are honest, unsolicited and for your average person.  We don’t frequent fancy restaurants that often; our reviews are of restaurants during our pursuit of good food at a good price.  If you expect a review of a new trendy French place…then you will probably need to look somewhere else.  We will never let the restaurant know we are reviewing them so our opinions will never be swayed by a “free meal” and the restaurant will be reviewed in their normal, day-to-day business mode.  We rarely ask to meet the chef, owner or manager when doing a review, but Pie’s Plate will soon be adding pod casts which will include interviews with creators of great food and foodies alike.   

We each have our pet peeves when it comes to dining out.  If you click on Pie’s or Rhonette’s name on this page, you will get more detail about the reviewer, their likes and dislikes along with contact information.  You will see in reviewing restaurants, Pie and Rhonette will have different opinions about the same place.  We suggest reading both of their reviews for the restaurant, if available.  Pie’s Plate will have guest reviewers that will appear time to time from around the country and locally, too.  If you have written a restaurant review and would like to post it on our site as a guest reviewer, please email us at contactus@piesplate.com.
